Food and Drink

Whether you are visiting our hospitals, or staying as a patient - we have a variety of food and drink options available to you. For guidance on food intake and safety while staying a hospital, please read our leaflet on eating well in hospital

Meals in Wards

We provide patients with a breakfast, lunch, and evening meal, snacks during the day as well as regular hot and cold drinks.

A continental style breakfast is provided by ward staff, while lunch and dinner is freshly prepared by our catering department. For both lunch and dinner, you will have a choice of starter, main course, and dessert. You will also have choice over size of the portion.

You can expect your meals to be served during the following times dependent on which ward you are in:

Breakfast - 7.00am to 8.30am

Lunch - 12.00pm to 1.00pm

Evening meal - 5.00pm to 6.00pm

We provide for a wide range of dietary requirements. Please read the patient menu carefully and discuss with your ward nurse or dietitian.

If it is your birthday during your stay then please let ward staff know who can request a birthday cake for you.
