Surgical Assessment Unit

The Surgical Assessment Unit care for patients with a surgical problem who may need to be admitted to hospital. 

If referred to the Surgical Assessment Unit, you may undergo a series of investigations and tests from our nursing and medical staff.

The unit is open 24 hours a day seeing a variety of different emergency surgical patients. As this is an urgent care department, it is possible you may have a long wait between your investigations and the doctor's review.
