Vaccination Centre

The Vaccination Centre runs clinics from the Royal Berkshire Hospital with additional spoke clinics held at Townlands Hospital, West Berkshire Community Hospital and Bracknell Health space.

Our main hub is located in Royal Berkshire Hospital at Level 2, South Block

We provide the following vaccinations:

COVID Vaccinations

Spring 2025 COVID vaccinations have now ended.

Autumn vaccinations are expected to be available in early October, with eligibility being confirmed by the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation nearer the time.

We are expecting to be offering COVID vaccinations, and this page will be updated once more details are released.

Year round Covid vaccinations are available for patients who are:

  • 6 months post stem cell transplant requiring re-vaccination.
  • about to start new treatment causing severe immunosuppression

Please discuss with your specialist nurse or GP to arrange.

Flu Vaccinations

Flu vaccinations are available seasonally from October to March.

This section will be updated soon with details of the next campaign

RSV Vaccinations

RSV vaccinations in Pregnancy:

RSV can be a sever respiratory virus in babies and young children, and is responsible for around 20,000 hospital admissions a year in infants. Vaccination reduces the chances of your baby becoming hospitalised with RSV by 70-80%. More details can be found on the NHS website

Patients of our maternity services will be invited by text message to book after 28 weeks.
If you haven’t received a text message then booking is available on our RSV vaccine for pregnant women page, with clinics run from all sites .

RSV vaccinations in older adults:

We aim to offer vaccinations to patients 75-80 years old, as part of discharge planning for inpatients. We prioritise patients who have had a long admission and being discharged to a care or nursing home.

If you are struggling to obtain your RSV vaccination from your GP services please contact us on 0118 322 5665, or email: vaccination.booking@royalberkshire.nhs.uk and we will help.

Whooping Cough (Pertussis) Vaccinations

Whooping cough vaccinations in pregnancy. Whooping cough can be very dangerous for babies. Giving a vaccine in pregnancy means antibodies pass to baby through the placenta giving good protection from serious illness or death. You can read about the whooping vaccine on the NHS website.

Vaccinations are normally available from your GP provider after your 20 week scan. You can contact us if you are struggling to access and we will give you an appointment. If you attend for your RSV vaccine after 28 weeks and you have not had your whooping cough vaccine we will offer at the same appointment,

Other vaccinations

The vaccination centre aims to support patients to access any vaccines for which there are complexities receiving from GPs or other services.

We welcome any patients or relatives who contact us (see top left) with any issues, as we will assist.
