Out PAT dogs popping in to our Public Board meeting
On Wednesday 30 July at our Public Board meeting, some very special members of the team popped in. Fraser, Mollie, Tilly, Alfie, Fergus, and Toffee, the Pets As Therapy dogs who have come to visit us 75 times since starting back in June last year - making a difference and spreading joy wherever they go.
It’s been shown that ‘Pets As Therapy’ can support patients in a whole range of ways, including making a particular difference to patients with dementia. And alongside this, the buzz they create helps to build bridges between patients, prompting them to chat about their own pets at home, and being spurred on to get well and get back to them.
Here’s a short video of our PAT dogs at Public Board, and an interview with Fraser’s owner David.
